Privacy notice
What we hold and why
Information about public office holders. Name, position, institution, state, appointment details, and office contacts, taken from official and public sources. Our purpose is public transparency about who leads public offices.
Personal contact details. A personal WhatsApp number or personal email is shown only when the official has consented or has made it public themselves. We record the consent or source and the date. Where we have no such basis, we do not show it.
People who use the forms. If you send a report or claim, we keep your name, contact, and message to review and reply to it.
Visitors. Our web server keeps standard logs (IP address, time, page requested) for security and troubleshooting. We do not use advertising trackers on this site.
Your rights
You may ask to see, correct, restrict, or delete personal data we hold about you, or object to its use. Officials can ask us to remove or change any listed detail at any time. Email nigeriaisback@protonmail.com or use the report form. You may also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Keeping data safe and how long
Access to the editing area is limited to authorised administrators and protected by a password, encryption in transit, and rate limits. We keep report and claim messages for as long as needed to handle them, then delete them. Server logs are kept for a short period.
Sharing
Public profile information is visible to everyone on the site. We do not sell personal data and do not share form submissions except where the law requires.
Changes
We may update this notice and will change the date when we do.
